I was staying just outside eastborne over night so decided to give friston forest a go on the the bike as its got some mountian bike trails that are said to be there on the foresty comssion web site. I have to say the waymarking on the trails is awful! a few posts here and there with a small coloured arrow (which wasn't the same colour if the trail over lapped with anther one I guess it cost too much to have more than onepost or more than one colour of paint.
It got to a point where I was going round in circles without going past where I had left the car! After the 3 time of going up the same hill ( The film blair witch project was in my mind) I got to the point where I was thinking Im a bit lost here how am I going to get out of this one! Luckly I met some walkers who had a map so got my self on a fire road out of the forest where I could get back along the road around the outside to where the car was.
Some great trails mixture of single track/bridle and fire roads could be a very good day with someone who knows the trails well
